Set in Britain's rural heartland in the valley of the River Enborne you can explore the farmyard and meet the animals. Then have an adventure in one of our playgrounds. Whatever you choose to do at Family Adventure Farm, the emphasis is on getting involved and having fun! We are of course seasonal. Winter is still here and activities are limited. In view of this we operate a winter discount price. Spring is on the doorstep with a host of activities starting for Easter, which is very early this year. Take a picnic inside or outside or eat undercover in the Barn Cafe. With our extensive undercover areas, barns and indoor play activities there is something here for all weathers. Supervised and staffed activities: Tractor trailer ride - farms are normally dangerous places with large animals and big machinery. We take you in safety for a short ride onto the backside of the farm. The ride starts from Waterloo Station, which is our waterplay area (opening again for April), along the river side road into the near fields, where you will find some of our sheep and newborn lambs. Bouncy Castle. Pig racing - our six piglets love running from their pen to the end of the Animal Barn. Bottle feed the lambs (from March until mid June) - come and help us to feed the lambs to make them grow big and strong. Pet our rabbits and guinea pigs - we have baby rabbits and their parents. They live happily with our guinea pigs and they love being fed by you. Other activities: Restaurant - relax with some food or go for traditional snacks. The restaurant is fully licensed. Picnic area by the Lake (opening April) have your picnic get some shade under our several hundred year old large oak trees. Farms require large water reservoirs in case of dry periods and we certainly have a lot of water to spare in a very pretty setting. We have made it perfectly safe for all ages. Farmer's World - kiddie tractors the children can drive themselves; start at the Fuel Station, drive onto the Combine Harvester, continue to the Silo (where grain is stored), further to the Windmill and then to the Bakery. With the right amount of imagination, this represents part of arable farming in terms of what happens from harvesting. Machinery - Go on by foot to our real Combine Harvester you can climb and slide, try to take our oldie-worldie tractor for a spin, or make believe a family day out in our old Land Rover with attached caravan. Builder's World - our building crane and special digging machine in 40 tonnes of sand. Farms require construction and land work to be carried out. When we rebuilt the farm we used machinery such as these, although on a much larger scale. Crazy Golf - a type of modern day farm diversification with a 5 hole course and a club house. Adventure Play - starting from our straw mountain in the Playbarn you will find our Tyre slide, the Silo, the Tree House and the challenging Tower Bridge. Toddlers' Play - when you want to relax with the children whilst you are having lunch or a cup of chocolate got to the Sunny Side Terrace. Village Play - in the big Playbarn visit the Farm Shop and other small houses. |
